Who can benefit from Dreamwork?

 The work of C. G. Jung focused on listening to the unconscious - to the soul speaking about itself - through dreams. In this way, we can restore lost and forgotten aspects of ourselves to consciousness, and unlock new potential.

 

Anyone who remembers their dreams and is curious about learning to understand the meaning, energy and events within them can benefit from dreamwork.  


Dreamwork is not psychoanalysis or psychotherapy - it's a learning process and offers the potential for deep and exciting insight. It can be transformational and may have a therapeutic effect through supporting individuation. It is a process of translating dreams, which is a fresh approach to dream interpretation or dream analysis.


Dreamwork is ideal for those interested in facilitating a dialogue with the unconscious, whether to address a particular personal issue or to work on a creative project - especially for creatives who feel stuck. It's useful for those who would like to experience Jungian work using a variety of techniques.

How can dreamwork help?

  • Unravelling the meaning of a recurring or unusual dream

Dreams and their meanings

How does it work?

  • First, write down the dream you want to bring to your session, in the present tense.
  • If you struggle to remember your dreams but would like to work with them, begin a dream notebook or  or make voice-recordings on your phone; it helps to signal your attention to the unconscious (see my blog post for how to improve your dream recall).
  • Get in touch to book your appointment.
  • We meet for an hour's session to discuss the dream you would like to learn more about.
  • You share your dream by reading it out, as you would a story.
  • We begin to work on translating your dream, using a variety of Jungian techniques.
  • Sessions can be booked singly, or in a block of  three or eight consecutive meetings. Dreamwork tends to prove more powerful when we work with a series of dreams together.
